ProCo helps get Rotherham’s Heart of Steel beating

A new sculpture representing the heart of Rotherham will be unveiled in the town centre on July 4th – with ProCo as a key partner. The two-metre high, two-tonne Heart of Steel sculpture will be a symbol of the community and the love residents have for their town. It will be installed and seen for the first time at a launch event in Minster Gardens, on Corporation Street.

The Rotherham Heart of Steel is a direct link with the Yorkshire Man of Steel project, a 30metre landmark sculpture and visitor centre that will honour the people and places of the region’s coal and steel history and the advances in the new technology sector.

ProCo has produced an extensive range of materials for the launch event, demonstrating the company’s versatility. The soon-to-be iconic landmark required eye-catching print and marketing materials, challenging ProCo to utilise its wide-ranging services.

The items created for the historic unveiling included:

  • A2 posters to sell on the day
  • A4 posters to promote the event
  • A4 direction posters
  • Coin boxes for promotional coin
  • Event banners
  • Pull up banners
  • Drawstring bags
  • Water bottles
  • Event stickers
  • Postcards & wraps
  • Invites
  • Flyers
  • Flags

“As a Yorkshire based company, we are really proud to be supporting the Heart of Steel sculpture and Yorkshire Man of Steel project,” said Jon Bailey, Managing Director of ProCo. “The launch of the Rotherham Heart of Steel demanded the highest quality marketing and promotional materials – and this is where ProCo excels. The team here is rightly proud of the work they’ve done to give this historic monument the unveiling it deserves.”

Steve Mehdi is the sculptor behind both projects; “ProCo are part of the overall ‘Team of Steel’ behind the Yorkshire Man of Steel project. They’re the ‘gold standard’ in print and marketing expertise and produce fantastic quality. They stand out in their industry because they listen and then deliver the best solution. Nothing is too much trouble, and they also enjoy a good laugh! It’s a privilege to work with them.”

The Yorkshire Man of Steel will be installed as a landmark gateway in Rotherham, close to junction 34 on the M1. The sculpture will contain the original Heart of Steel sculpture, which will hold over 150,000 names of individuals who have donated to support the project.
