Print industry leaders descend on Dublin for 2015 Dscoop Open
Over 1,250 print industry leaders converged on Dublin for the 2015 Dscoop Open. The conference brought together a like-minded international community of print service providers from the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Japan.
ProCo took the opportunity to unveil their recent acquisition of the HP Indigo 10000 B2 digital press at the event. ProCo’s Jon Bailey and Matt Johnson, alongside Concept Communications’ Giles Bowes and Paul Hale, were in attendance for the announcement.
Jon, who sits on the Dscoop Board of Directors, said: “As an organisation Dscoop is extremely effective. The education is very strong, the networking opportunities are excellent and the partner program allows you to get up close and personal with the very latest digital technology, including our latest arrival, The Hp Indigo 10000 B2 digital press”.
The Convention Centre Dublin, in the centre of Ireland’s capital city, played host to the three day Dscoop Open, on 3rd-5th June. Attendees were treated to the industry’s latest technology, product and service updates from HP, as well as educational sessions and face-to-face networking opportunities.
The event’s keynote speakers included: Andrew Davis, marketing speaker and best selling author; Mark Stevenson, author and expert on global trends and innovation moderated by Jon; and Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager of HP Indigo Digital Press Division who delivered a keynote including a case study on ProCo’s award winning culture and leadership programme .
The Dscoop Conference Education delivered a top quality programme of sessions for attendees, covering four key areas of print. There were almost 40 sessions in total, focusing on publishing, commercial print, photo as well as labels and packaging renaissance.
The inaugural Inkspiration Awards was launched at the conference, which recognises excellence in the use of HP Indigo printing technology. Ten prizes were presented in total, with categories ranging direct mail, brochures, B2 innovation, labels, flexible packaging and folding carton. The competition saw more than 200 entries from 70 countries across the world.
Following the success of this year’s event, next year’s Dscoop EMEA conference is set to take place in Israel from 6-10 April 2016.
